Why choose Corby?

Corby has been identified as an important component within the Milton Keynes and South Midlands Growth Area – part of the Government’s Sustainable Communities Plan. This sets out a long-term programme of action for delivery sustainable communities across England.

The growth aspirations are embodied in the requirement detailed in the Milton Keynes and South Midlands Sub-Regional Strategy to deliver 16,800 new dwellings within Corby Borough to 2021, 10,500 of which are to be provided in new expansion areas. This is consistent with North Northants Development Company objective of doubling the population of Corby to over 100,000 by 2031.

The amount of development that will take place has been agreed in the Regional Spatial Strategy. It says that 52,100 new homes and 43,800 new jobs should be provided in North Northants between 2001 & 2021 and that 34,100 of these homes should be located in the towns of Kettering, Corby and Wellingoborough.

Situated close to the centre of England, Corby offers excellent access to all areas of the UK and into mainland Europe.

Road - Six miles from the A14, Corby has easy access to the main national north/south motorway network, the M6 and East Coasts Euro Ports. Work is to start shortly on the £25m construction of a new A43 Southern Corby link road
